We have all seen that business dress for women usually consists of a sharp blouse under a blazer and matching skirt. Those blouses are usually neutral in color and hidden by the smart suit set, and the woman looks chic and put together. The blouse is a hidden accessory that peeks out at the collar and between the lapels of the jacket, and perhaps at the cuffs. When the day is over, however, or the weekend comes, a lot of women want out of the button down blouse and suit set, and want to let loose, and still look good while doing so.
This is where those more casual tops can come out loud and proud to make your evenings or weekends pop with color and fashion. You can let go of the business dress code and go with some skinny jeans paired with some high-heeled shoes, and add a black V-neck t-shirt to the outfit to head out to the mall with your girlfriends. The right accessories with a plain, casual black t-shirt can take what looks like an ordinary top and make it a fashion statement. You can make a very casual top really pop with a big silver necklace and the right skinny jeans, with some really fun and fabulous heels.
That tank top at the back of the closet can be brought out to play as well. You can pair that with some really flirty earrings and a dressy skirt to go out to the club for some dancing. Pop on a fun jacket for the walk in, and then throw it on the back of a chair to reveal your bare shoulders and a vibrant tank top that can take you from casual to "Let's dance!" in no time. Make sure you wear shoes that can take dancing the night away, and your casual tank top is now a super chic part of your clubbing outfit. Dress it up with some sequins or flashy blocks of material or patterns, and you will have no problem turning heads at the club.
Another casual item in your closet that you may think is just for those days at home is a white camisole. This may seem like a piece of your pajama ensemble, made for weekends where you sleep in, but if you dress it up with a pair of leggings and a snappy jacket, you have a great outfit for coffee with the girls, or that date on the boardwalk with the new guy from your building. Put on some really great boots and your camisole takes on a whole new life as the base for a super cute cardigan while you are sipping tea at a bookstore and secretly hoping to catch the eye of the guy across the way.
Those casual tops that you thought were only good for your cleaning days or popcorn and a chick flick can take on a whole new life as bases for chic and fabulous outfits with a few well placed accessories and shoes. Take them out of the back of your closet and give them new life!
